Elbows, hips and shoulders are where a lying dog's weight presses hardest. On a hard floor, or on a bed that's gone flat, those bony points take all of it.

Most beds can't fix this because they're a single layer, which forces a trade-off. Soft enough to be comfy usually means too soft to support. Firm enough to support usually means hard on bony elbows and hips.

The Nest uses two layers that do different jobs. The high-density memory foam base does the supporting, and a 2cm cooling gel layer on top softens the contact points, so elbows, hips and shoulders aren't pressing into a hard surface.

When a dog lies on a bed that's too soft, their heaviest parts (hips and shoulders) sink the furthest. Their spine ends up curved for hours at a time, which is the last thing an older or stiff dog needs.

The Nest has 10cm of high-density memory foam. It moulds to your dog's shape but doesn't bottom out.

Think about sleeping without a pillow. Dogs are no different: when the head drops lower than the body, the neck takes the strain all night.

The Nest is wrapped in a raised latex-foam rim that works like a pillow on every side. Whichever way your dog curls, there's somewhere to rest their chin at the right height. Latex is naturally springy, so the rim holds its shape instead of collapsing.

Dogs can't sweat through their skin like we do. They mainly cool down by panting, so a bed that traps heat means a restless dog who gets up and flops onto the floor at 2am.

The Nest's inner pad is reversible: cooling gel side up to draw heat away in summer, flipped over for a warmer surface when the temperature drops. The outer is breathable netting, so air can move instead of heat building up around your dog.

Most dogs start the night curled up and finish it stretched out. A bed that only fits the curled-up version gets abandoned halfway through the night.
